LONDON THEN LONDON TO NEW YORK

I have been very measured (for me) about the trip from London to New York. I emailed Nick Machin, the guy who wrote the blog, and he suggested that we meet up at the beginning of August so that he can give me the low down. I keep telling myself to stand back and consider what I'm doing because I always act so impetuously and get myself into so much trouble, then I though f..k it, do it, so I did! Completed the booking form, sent off my deposit and got an email confirmation by return. The dye is cast!

Even if it makes me lose a little weight and occupies my mind for a while it's worth it and if I really hate it I can always stop off at the nearest airport and come home again. So next March will see me with my rucksack timidly meeting my travelling companions in London ready for the big journey. How wonderful!

In the meantime life goes on. Tomorrow I'm going up to London for a "girls" weekend away to see "We Will Rock You" at the theatre. We are having lunch at Kettners, a wonderful restaurant in Soho and staying overnight at a gorgeous Grange City Hotel. It should be tremendous fun. I can't wait.

That's great news for next March! You'll love the experience and make a lot of new friends. And they'll have a charming travelling companion!

Somehow, I just do not see you as this timid little thing. I know you made the right decision and you are going to have a fabulous time. I love that you are staying busy and enjoying life. Wish you could get to San Francisco and make the rounds with me.

Nice one Ann! I am looking forward to reading all about your adventures during the trip.

Perhaps during the trip, to keep you blogging, you may find something like the following useful.

Solar Charger

Get the IT guys to help you make a final choice.

As you know DogLover,I do love meeting people so I think my natural curiosity will be catered for on this trip!

Yes, life is pretty full on at the moment Maggie. I guess I am immersing myself in activity rather than dwell on life without Davy. Am I right to do this? I don't know, only time will tell.

The tour does ship up in San Francisco at some point Carmen, so maybe we could get together for a coffee? It would be good to meet you.

I didn't realise that Greg came from Lincolnshire Addy. I meet people from this area all over the world. I think they are very independent from way back and have an interesting history of being freemen, never submitting to surfdom, or so I believe, but I'm sure DogLove will now correct me on this! Thankfully he is my mentor and moderator. He keeps me honest.

I need your expert advice to keep me blogging on this trip Ashley. For example what is the difference between the Solar Charger and a Power Money univeral backup battery. Would I need both? And should I get an iPad? I guess I will ask Luke too, but two opinions are better than one!
