WE NEED A BIGGER KITCHEN

"Do you like me?"

"Yes, why?"

"Because I spend my life with you and it would be nice to know that I was liked"

I was thinking that maybe I should be paying more attention to this man until a couple of hours later when, dodging around the kitchen trying not to get in each other's way, me cooking sunday roast for the family and him making one cup of coffee for himself, I "politely" point out that perhaps I should take priority in this situation. He growled back:

"Name me one person in the world that would put up with you"

Now in my opinion that was totally uncalled for.

"Name one person in the world that I would WANT to put up with me?"

"You are just trying to wriggle out of the question"

There are some questions that just don't have an answer aren't there?

And finally .... Be careful reading the fine print. There's no way you're going to like it.

You sound a little like me and my OH except I usually say "what would you do without me" and the reply, usually, is "I wouldn't want to"!

Our kitchen is tiny and when OH is in charge of the cooking, it is definitely off-limits for me, otherwise sparks fly!

Fine print doesn't worry us any more - neither of us can read it. A x

Sounds a bit like husband - wife conversations in our household. Let me introduce you to my wife. "She who must be obeyed!"

She hates me being in the kitchen other that by special dispensation of Her Royal command when she orders me to wipe the dishes, sometimes if I am really lucky I can get to do the washing up as well. As for cooking I make much too much mess! I apologise regularly about my total inability to multi-task and plead, "I am only a man! please forgive me!"
I loved the post and it made me laugh a lot. Be gentle with him!

Sounds very familiar! LOL!

I usually retort 'You'll be sorry when I'm gone!' And he replies 'don't be silly, you know I'm going first.'

Unfortunately Ann eOG is NEVER in charge of the cooking. Hence the fuss he makes when he is making one cup of coffee for himself!

OK I'll be gentle with him Eddie, even if it kills me to have to do it!

We used to say that too Jay until OG got cancer and then we thought it was probably inappropriate! Sorry, black humour!

It's an interesting thing that whatever a man is doing in the kitchen becomes 'a code red priority' over what WE are doing in the kitchen. Like making a Sunday lunch for 12 or breakfast for hungry grandchildren. Oops, do I sound slightly annoyed?!
