THE HOUSE PROGRESSES SOME.

This is an artist impression of what our new bedroom will be like. The spiral staircase leads up to a dressing room and behind the curved wall is our ensuite bathroom. The figure lounging on the chair is Old Grumpy watching his 62" TV!
We have two french doors with a balconette facing the bed and overlooking the fens. We can't wait until the house is finished.
At the moment we are reduced to only one ensuite bathroom, so all visitors have to traipse through our bedroom to go to the loo. Not very convenient and consequently we can't have anyone staying overnight, except the children who don't seem to mind!
The plan is to finish one side of the house, move in and renovate the side that we are now living in. The transition should occur within the next few weeks (fingers crossed) and we can then spread out a little again. Whew! This has been a long haul and I don't anticipate it being totally finished until summer.

That will be a wonderful room. How long will it take to finish it? Like the spiral staircase.

That looks very posh - hope you and OG will enjoy it. By the time it happens, you will have deserved it. Margot:)

Wow, love it. If anyone deserves such a beautiful place to relax (and sleep), it's you two. I can just see Old Grumpy now relaxing in his chair watching TV, where's your chair or will you just lounge in bed. It's like being in a Hollywood movie star's home. Hurry and get the guest room back in use!!

SO jealous of a spiral staircase! Now, if you tell me you're going to have a library with those cool ladders that roll along, I will have to hate you.

How long will it take to finish? Mmmm? When it started last May I said about a year. I think that may have been a bit optimistic!

Posh Margot? That doesn't sound like us, but you are right, it will be posh but with grand/greatgrandchildren it will still be "lived" in!

Now then, anonymous, who can you be? You have obviously visited us. Are you from the great USofA by any chance?

Carrie, you have just given me a great idea!

How wonderful! New "diggs"! Can be such a mess, but well worth it! Thanks for stopping by my blogg! I really like your "2 cows" post!lol Have a happy day!

Hi Donna, in his youth Old Grumpy was (like you) in construction and we have renovated many houses so we have the experience to successfully isolate ourselves from the mess.

By the way, I love your blog. It made me feel good and that is a talent not many people have. I think that you must be a good person.

You are quite right VM, the health is far more important and thanks for asking. OG goes for surgery on 18th March and we will know more after that. It has been a long haul to get to this point. His symptoms first started last August and here we are three biopsys and many tests later still waiting!
